Not really the way family was meant to be… It seems to me that our families are not surviving very well. It can be very hard on everyone involved and especially the children involved. It leaves people confused, hurt, and questioning what this life is all about.

Powerful painting. I guess no family is 'perfect', but it reflects the pain of a broken, hurting family. The thing is, even in a broken, hurting family you can still find goodness coming through it. Like a closer relationship with a family member (much like the painting of you and your bro)... know what I mean? Even through all the pain my family went through (and is still going through) I can still find joy and hope in the good things that we have and mostly in what I've learned through it all. Like a small light shining through the darkness that keeps us going... perhaps an inspiring new painting that I might just try!! Your art is deep and beautiful- thanks for the inspiration.
Just had a new thought about your painting... The moon is shining, there is a window and it's pretty dark... It's a reminder that tomorrow is a brighter day. The moon is still there, just not very bright. The sun will come up and shine through the darkness and pain. Wait, cry, shout through the darkness but never forget the window and that there is something brighter that is coming.
